The Salvation Series is a Christian, Christ-centered series that is completely fictional. All of the characters have a story to tell. Each of their stories can either bring them closer to God or take them away from God. These characters are sifted and then weighed in the balance. Read and see if these characters make it through their journey in life. http://thesalvationseries.wix.com/butterflypublishing#

Dear Christian: It Starts With A Thought
Foundation Scriptures: Genesis 3:1-3 and James 4:7
What if you had the whole world on your shoulders and everything depended on you, could you handle that? In Genesis chapter 3, Eve, the mother of humanity, responded to the devil with logic or a system of thinking. She tried to reason by first disputing the notion and then clarifying the commandment of God, essentially saying "no, God said..."
However, it wasn't enough to dispel Satan's question. We, as Christians, have to resist. Resist is a form of combat, a form of challenge and fight. It implies a term of war. And truly we are at war, with ourselves. In James 4:7, the bible says to resist the devil and he will flee. God is saying we have to resist principalities and the wiles of the devil. Because, like Eve, our lives can change with just a single thought.

Dear Christian: What is Righteousness?
What is righteousness?
Merriam Webster defines righteousness as being "free from guilt or sin." But what is righteousness to God, whom is righteous and doesn't need us?
The bible says that "God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." ( 2 Corinthians 5:21, NIV)
Let's be clear, Jesus did not become a sinner, but sin- a curse rather, where the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Put simply, Jesus became us, our sin, and we became Him, his righteousness. We traded and Jesus died because of that wage. Now, Jesus died for the sole purpose of atonement, to reconcile God and man.
But why do we have to be righteous, why is righteousness important? Isaiah 32:17 states it best, "And the work of righteousness shall be peace, and the effect of righteousness shall be quietness and assurance forever."
In other words, we will not eat the fruit of sin- like Eve, but the fruit of righteousness. And the effects of eating this fruit will be quietness and assurance in God. Halelujah!

Dear Christian
Will trying hard get us into heaven?
There is a lot to be said about trials and tribulations, but we must overcome our trials. We must understand that the bible does not say blessed are those who try real hard, but the bible says "blessed are those who overcome" (Revelation 3:7).
Although nothing can separate us from God, we do have the choice of walking away from God through free will.
Only faith in the truth, that Jesus is the Son of God, will make us overcomers (1John5:4-5).
So, no, trying hard will not get us into heaven. We must, therefore, be more than conquerors with our faith in Jesus Christ and not let sin be Master over us.

Dear Christian
The bible is not based on one scripture. I hear some people take one scripture and run with it, like that one scripture is the only scripture in the bible. The whole bible, old and new testament, needs to be read, studied and understood.

Dear Christian
Church is not an industry or a market-based institution, which is what I feel a lot of churches are becoming. I used to be part of a church where the higher you go in leadership positions the more money it cost. I don't mind paying for money to feed the poor, but when it gets to the point of paying for leadership outings, outfits or even monetary funding to support leadership that already gets paid a good amount of money then I feel church becomes an industry. We all know the famous scripture of Matthew 21:12-13 where Jesus drives out all who were buying and selling in the temple. There is a line that was crossed in Jesus's time and is being crossed in churches today. Church should always be a place of worship, not a place for thievery.

Dear Christian
Don't wait to be perfect to live your life for Christ. Ecclesiastes 3:11 states that God will make everything beautiful in His time and no man can find out the work of God from the beginning to the end.
